The Public Hearing for the Dangerous
Building, located at 10652 W. Jolly Road, was called to order by Supervisor
Slucter at 7:00 pm.
Supervisor Slucter opened the hearing with noting we
have the Hearing Officer’s Decision and Order report and Certificate of Service
as well as the Affidavit of Service of Hearing Officer’s Report of
Noncompliance for the dangerous building located at 10652 W. Jolly Road.
Township’s legal counsel, Kendall O’Connor gave an
overview of the history on the house located at 10652 W. Jolly Road. Also she
gave a summarization of the Dangerous Building Hearing that took place on July 15,
2020, at which the property owner did not show.
On July 20, 2020 the hearing officer rendered a Hearing Officer’s
Decision and Order report that the
property owner shall repair and make safe the structures so that they are not
dangerous buildings within forty-five (45) days from the date of this Decision
and Order. In the alternative, the Hearing Officer Orders that the property
owner shall demolish and remove the structures from the property within
forty-five (45) days from the date of this Decision and Order. There
was no appeal filed. On September 7,
2020 a Report of Hearing Officer’s Noncompliance was filed. This hearing is for
public input to assist the Township Board in determining how to proceed from
here going forward.
Supervisor Slucter visited site on September 7, 2020
and there has been little or no attempt by the property owner to try and make
structures safe.
Property owner is not here for comment.
With no more comments or questions from
the public, Supervisor Slucter closed the public hearing for the Dangerous
Building – 10652 W. Jolly Road at 7:06 pm.
