REGULAR MEETING September 28, 2021

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Slucter with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Slucter, Pray, Fritts, Myers, Piper and Pisano
Absent: Rumsey
Piper moved and Pisano seconded
to approve the agenda. Carried 6-0-1.
Myers
moved and Fritts seconded to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as written.
Carried 6-0-1.
Reports:
Sheriff’s Report: None
Planning Commission: None
Sewer Board: Accepted John Verlinde to Sewer Board. Township has Slucter, Bogi and Verlinde on serving on the Board.
Emergency Service Department: Chief Miller reported. 1) assisted Benton Twp Fire on Structure Fire 2) incident on Bishop Rd was discussed. Stress debriefing is set up for the personnel. 3) Word from Kodiak that Osage has received the chassis and has started work on the new ambulance

Slucter moved and Piper seconded to promote Doug Drake to Captain. Carried 6-0-1
Assessor/Preston Community Services: Draft Master Plan has been distributed to neighboring communities for 63-day review.
Library: 1) Waiting to hear from state on the ARPA Grant proposal. 2) Celebrating 70th birthday on Saturday Oct 2, 2021. 3) Author visit on October 12, 2021. 4) Shirley Watson, President of Library Board gave report.
Supervisor’s Report: Consumers Energy working on disconnecting services to Jolly Road house for dangerous building demolition.

2022 Millage Resolution:
Slucter moved and Fritts seconded to maintain the 3.8 mils
for taxable year 2021/22.

Carried: 6-0-1
Property and Casualty Insurance Renewal:
Myers moved and Pisano seconded to renew Property and
Casualty Insurance, to include Terrorism Coverage and with conditional approval
of Non-Monetary Defense Cost increase.
Carried 6-0-1

Public comment was heard from Grand Point Subdivision on street parking

ordinance
