WINDSOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
JULY 26, 2022 – 7:00 PM

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Slucter with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Slucter, Rumsey, Fritts, Myers, Piper, Pray and Pisano
Absent: None
Piper
moved and Pisano seconded to approve the agenda as written. Motion carried
unanimously.
Piper moved and Fritts seconded to approve
the minutes of the previous regular meeting as written. Motion carried
unanimously.
Reports:
Sheriff’s Report: None
Planning Commission: None
Sewer Board: Approved the purchase of a new generator for lift station on Creyts Road.
Emergency Service Department: Chief Miller reported: 1) On the EMS and Fire Runs since last meeting. 2) Rumsey moved and Piper seconded to approve the hiring of Justin Friesorger as a Paid-On Call Firefighter/Trainee. Motion carried unanimously. 3) Discussed the shortage of EMS personnel and lack of receiving applications. Still have one full time opening to fill. Looking to increase salaries to become more competitive and lure people in. Payroll surveys were distributed to the Township Board to assist with budgeting for the next year. 4) The Prevention Department has been working with County Building and BFS on inspections and alarm systems for a couple of new facilities.
Assessor/Preston Community Services: 1) July Board of Review met on the 19th and updates are being made. 2) Mid-August through October field work will be conducted.
Library: 1) Thank you was extended to the Township Board for the support in obtaining the ADA doors for the Library and Township office entrances. 2) There are 111 kids enrolled in the Summer Reading Program.
Supervisor’s
Report: Been in contact with a new
graphic artist to possibly work on township logo.
Public Officials:
Supervisor Slucter announced on County Commissioner Dairus Reynnet behalf that the County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution to have on the November Ballot a proposal to assess one mill for Eaton County Parks.
Other Reports & Announcements:
Jim Bogi reported: 1) Eaton County came and picked up the 56 tires that have been accumulated from roadside cleanup. 2) The Township averages about 35 interments a year, through the end of June we already have had 20 and anticipate about a half dozen more by the end of July.
Campers, Cars and Crafts will be in Dimondale Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 10 am to 4 pm.

moved and Piper seconded to un-table Zoning Ordinance Update. Motion carried unanimously. A review of Articles 6 thru 8 of the
Zoning Ordinance Update was undertaken.
Clarifications and improvements were made in several areas. Slucter moved and Pray seconded to table
Zoning Ordinance Update until next meeting to allow for further review. Motion Carried Unanimously.
