WINDSOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD

REGULAR MEETING

OCTOBER 16, 2023 – 7:00 PM

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Slucter with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present:  Slucter, Rumsey, Fritts, Myers, Pray and Pisano

Absent:  Piper

 

Rumsey moved and Pray seconded to approve the agenda as written. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Myers moved and Pisano seconded to approve the Consent Agenda.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

General Fund consisting of Voucher #34913 through Voucher #34964 equaling: $65,568.87 plus digital transfers and payments of $1,253.46 making a Grand Total of $66,822.33.

 

Payroll Report consisting of Voucher #42472 through #42484 and Direct Deposit #DD4294 through #DD4368 plus digital payments for a Grand Total of $109,453.22.

 

Reports:

 

Sheriff’s Report:  Deputy Holliday reported on incidents in the township. 

    

     Planning Commission: At the last meeting, a public hearing was held on a rezoning request from SF Real Estate LLC for a combination of parcels that have frontage on Pats Dr and Billwood Hwy.  Recommendation was tabled until the next meeting for further review. 

 

     Sewer Board: Meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 pm.

 

     Emergency Service Department:  Chief Miller reported:  1) Significant runs were recounted.  2) The Agency and Vehicle Inspection for our State of Michigan Licensing for 2024 has been completed.  3) MIOSHA will be using our station on Thursday for the training of new state fire department investigators. 4)  Rumsey moved and Fritts seconded to approve the hiring of Kaylee Austin and Cameron May as EMT trainees. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Assessor/Preston Community Services:  None 

 

Public Service Department:  1) To date, there have been 27 burials, 16 cremations and 11 full burials, and poured 26 foundations.  2) Water for the cemeteries will be turned off soon.  3) Storm cleanup is almost completed.

 

Supervisor’s Report:  Since being back from vacation Saturday night 10/14/23, have been dealing with water issues from Grand Pointe subdivision and fielding calls on a rezoning request.

Rumsey moved and Slucter seconded to renew the Property and Casualty Insurance, Cyber & Privacy Liability Coverage and Casualty Limited Terrorism Coverage.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Hear Public Present on any subject:  

Public comment was heard concerning the change of zoning request currently under review by the Planning Commission, Grand Pointe Subdivision water and storm sewer issues, odor from Harvest Park and water main construction on Creyts Road.

 

With no further business Supervisor Slucter adjourned the meeting at 8:13 pm.
