SPECIAL MEETING - JUNE 4, 2024

Supervisor Slucter called to order the Special Meeting at 6:00 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Slucter, Rumsey, Fritts, Myers, Piper and Pisano

Absent: Pray

Piper moved and Pisano seconded to approve the agenda as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Discussion was held on the history and the reasoning behind the current Lemon Drain project. A Board of Determination was held a couple of years ago and it was decided the project was necessary. The estimated cost of the drain project is $1,081,260 and the Township’s expected At- Large portion, which is typically 15% of the project, would be about $162,189. The Drain Commission has requested confirmation, prior to their funding meeting Friday, June 7^th, on whether the Township would be willing to prepay all or a portion of the At-Large amount. If the Township prepays, it will bring the funding portion of the project under a million dollars. This would result in a reduction in fees associated with obtaining financing, lower interest rates and in turn reduces the drain assessment cost to our residents. Also, it would save the Township approximately $8000 in interest fees. Slucter moved and Myers seconded to prepay the 2024 Windsor Drain At-Large on the Lemon Drain project for an amount up to $165,000 and amend the Budget accordingly. Motion carried unanimously.

With no further business, Supervisor Slucter adjourned the Special Meeting at 6:17 pm.
