REGULAR MEETING – JULY 23, 2024

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Slucter with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Slucter, Rumsey, Myers, Piper, Pray and Pisano

moved and Pisano seconded to approve the agenda as written. Carried unanimously.
Pray moved and Myers seconded
to approve minutes of the previous meeting as written. Carried unanimously.
Reports:
Sheriff’s Report: None
Planning Commission: None
Sewer Board: The Sewer Board discussed the approval of bills, the installation of a new generator and gas line and replacement of the outfall pipe.
Emergency Service Department: Chief Miller reported: 1) Significant runs since last meeting. 2) Piper moved and Myers seconded to accept the resignation of Jennifer Lenneman. Motion carried unanimously. 3) Chief Miller advised the board he will not be in attendance for the next meeting.
Assessor/Preston Community Services: A letter from the State of Michigan was received stating that Windsor Township has been randomly selected for a state audit.
Public Service Department: Jim Bogi reported on cemetery maintenance and upcoming burials.
Supervisor’s Report: Supervisor Slucter announced he has seen the preliminary site plan for Consumers Energy and discussed the timeline for its completion.
Public Officials: None
Other Reports & Announcements: Assistant Chief Bill Fabijancic reported on the second computer risk analysis audit. A copy of the Information Resources Acceptable Use Policy was presented to the Township Board, Supervisor Slucter suggested reviewing it at the next meeting.

Unfinished Business: Discussion was held on the $2 million grant the Grand Pointe Subdivision received for a new water system and the potential need for a special assessment district to be created. Legal counsel will be sought for guidance. If needed, a special meeting could be scheduled for August 8th, 2024, at 7 pm to review.
New Business: Chief Miller led a discussion on updating the fire code ordinance to align with the latest NFPA standards and improving ISO rating.
