WINDSOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD

REGULAR MEETING – NOVEMBER 26, 2024

MEETING ROOM – 7:00 PM

PROPOSED

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Shaw with the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Present:  Shaw, Rumsey, Barnhart-Smith, Gardner, Pray and VanElls  

Absent:  Myers

 

Rumsey moved and Pray seconded to approve the agenda as written.  Motion carried unanimously. 

 

VanElls moved and Gardner seconded to approve minutes of the previous meeting as written.  Motion carried unanimously. 

 

Reports:

Sheriff’s Report:  None

 

Planning Commission:  Consumer’s Energy site plan was approved at the last meeting.

 

Sewer Board: Continued discussion on outfall pipe and easements. Pump station by river needs attention.

 

Emergency Service Department: Chief Miller reported: 1) Significant runs since last meeting.  2) Preparations for the ISO evaluation. 3) Discussed how the local ISO rating effects property owner’s insurance rates.

 

Assessor/Preston Community Services: 1) The Board of Review will be meeting December 10, 2024.

 

Public Service Department: Jim Bogi spoke on burials and cremations for the year. 2) Cemeteries are finally ready for the winter.

 

Supervisor’s Report:  Spoke about getting settled into the position of Supervisor.

Public Officials: Dairus Reynnet the incoming Eaton County Treasurer introduced himself.

 

Other Reports & Announcements:  Stacy VanElls and Robert Gardner were welcomed to the Board

Barnhart-Smith made a motion and Rumsey seconded to assign additional duties to Sandra Pray to assume responsibilities and duties associated with Deputy Clerk position. Motion carried unanimously.

New Business:

Rumsey moved and Pray seconded to update bank signature cards for PNC Bank, Union Bank, Eaton Community Bank, Flagstar Bank, and Michigan Class accounts, removing Sue Fritts, as Treasurer, transferring Lisa Rumsey from Clerk to Treasurer, adding Meredith Barnhart-Smith as Clerk; with Jodi Streeter and Sandy Pray to remain on as deputies. Motion carried unanimously.

Shaw moved and Barnhart-Smith seconded to appoint Shaw and Barnhart-Smith to serve as members of the Library Committee. Motion carried unanimously.

Barnhart-Smith moved and Pray seconded to appoint Kyle Baker as the Director of Public Service, effective December 1, 2024, to assume responsibilities and duties associated with the position.

With no further business Supervisor Shaw adjourned the meeting at 7:23 pm.
