RESOLUTION
FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF PAYMENTS
BY
FINANCIAL TRANSACTION DEVICE
RESOLUTION
25-001
WHEREAS,
Pursuant to Public Act 280, P.A. of 1995 (MCL §129.221-129.224), the Windsor
Charter Township Board has the authority to authorize acceptance of payments by
financial transaction devices; and
WHEREAS,
the Township Board determined that the acceptance of payments by financial
transaction device would be a convenience for the residents of Windsor Charter
Township; and
WHEREAS,
it has been determined by the treasurer of Windsor Charter Township that
acceptable financial transaction devices include:

VISA
·
MASTERCARD
·
DISCOVER
CARD
·
AMERCIAN
EXPRESS
·
Debit
cards, or electronic fund transfers
AND
WHEREAS, the financial transaction devices that may be accepted comply with the
Township’s depository resolution under MCL 129.12 of Michigan Compiled Laws,
NOW
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that effective January 14, 2025, the Windsor Charter
Township Board authorizes the use of financial transaction devices and
authorizes the treasurer to proceed to implement their use according to the
following policy:
Financial
transactions that may be made by a financial transmission device shall include:

Real
and personal property taxes
·
Special
assessment payments
·
Zoning
permits
·
Building
permits
·
Burial
and Foundation fees
·
Burning
permits
·
Ambulance
and Fire services
·
Transactions
within the township offices in an amount over $50.00
The
following departments are authorized to accept such payments by financial
transaction devices:

Treasurer’s
department
·
Clerk’s
department
·
Building
department
The
foregoing resolution was officed at the Township Board meeting on January 14,
2025 by Board Member Barnhart-Smith and supported by Board Member Myers .
Upon
roll call vote, the following voted: 6 Yeas 0 Nays 1 Absent
Resolution
declared adopted.
